Who is responsible

Verdae is developed by Søren Munk. If you have questions about your data or this policy, email hello@verdae.app.

What data we process

Account

When you create an account, we store your email address and a user ID so you can sign in and sync across devices. You can sign in with Apple or Google; if you use Sign in with Apple and choose to hide your email, we only receive Apple's anonymous relay address.

Your content

What you write and log in the app — reflections, dream and inspiration, movement sessions, day plan, tasks, notes and tags — is stored for you, so it's available on your devices. It's your content, tied to your account.

Health & fitness

On iPhone and iPad, Verdae can connect to Apple Health (HealthKit) in two ways. Each is off until you turn it on, and each asks for your permission first:

• Saving your activities to Health. Sessions you log in Verdae are written to Apple Health as workouts, with an estimate of the active energy (calculated from the activity, its duration and the weight you enter), so they count toward your activity rings.
• Fetching your workouts from Health. Workouts recorded by your watch or other apps — their type, time and distance — appear as activities in Verdae, so they count toward your habits and intentions.

• We never use health or fitness data for advertising, marketing or data mining, never sell it, and don't share it with third parties.
• Your activity sessions — including workouts fetched from Health — and the weight you enter for the estimate are stored in your Verdae account so they can sync between your devices. Nothing else is read from Apple Health.
• You can turn each connection on or off in Verdae under Settings → Activities → Health, and revoke the permission any time in your device's Settings under Health.

If you're signed in and choose to enable it, meditation minutes from your own Inner·Wave account can appear alongside your activities. This data comes from your Inner·Wave account in our database — not from Apple Health.

Dream exploration (AI)

If you choose Explore the dream, the dream and what you choose to send along — your dreamer profile, the night's other dreams, earlier dreams and your comments on them — are sent to Anthropic, the maker of Claude, to get a reading back. Before the first time, the app asks you; each time, it shows what goes along, and you can switch any part of it off. You can also turn the feature off completely in settings.

• Verdae does not store the text you send on its server. The reading comes back to the app and is saved, encrypted, with your dream.
• For each reading we log only that it was made: your user ID, the time, the lens and model used, and how much was used — never what was written.
• Anthropic processes the text only to produce the reading, under its commercial terms, which do not allow it to train its models on this data.
• A reading is a suggestion, not an answer, and never a diagnosis.

Calendar

If you grant permission, Verdae can show and add events so your day plan lines up with your calendar. Calendar access is used only for that feature in the app and is not shared.

Usage data

To understand how the app is used and make it better, we record simple events about usage (for example, that a section was opened). This data is tied to your account and used for product improvement — not for advertising or cross-app tracking.

Where your data lives

Synced data is stored in our database at Supabase, hosted in the EU. All communication between the app and the server is encrypted over HTTPS. Access to your rows is protected so that only you (when signed in) can read and change your own data.

Third parties

We use only the services needed for the app to work: Supabase (database and sign-in), Anthropic (dream readings, only when you ask for one), Apple (Sign in with Apple, Apple Health, the App Store) and Google (Sign in with Google, if you choose it). We don't resell your data and use no advertising or tracking networks. Verdae shows no ads.

Tracking

Verdae does not track you across other companies' apps and websites. That's why you won't see an "allow tracking" prompt — because we don't do it.

Your rights

You always have the right to access, correct or delete your data. You can:

• Delete your account and all data directly in the app under Settings → Account → Delete account. This removes your account and its associated data permanently.
• Email hello@verdae.app if you'd like help with access or deletion.

If you live in the EU/EEA, you have rights under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), including the right of access, rectification, erasure, restriction and objection, as well as the right to lodge a complaint with your national data protection authority (in Denmark: Datatilsynet).

Retention

We keep your data for as long as you have an account. When you delete your account, your data is removed. Backups may briefly contain data until they expire under our normal backup cycle.

Children

Verdae is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect data from children under that age.

Changes

We may update this policy if the app changes. Material changes will appear here with a new "last updated" date.
